Chair Of Governors
Brief information
I joined the board of governors in 2021. After 31 years as a civil servant, I took early retirement just before the first Covid lockdown.
I have a strong link with the school as my grandson has just moved on to Plymouth City College, and I am the link governor for Careers Education. It is my role to assure a strategic overview of the delivery of the Careers curriculum at Cann Bridge School. This role includes the understanding of the Gatsby Benchmarks, the Careers Education development plan and how work is progressing to strengthen the school offer even further. It also includes an awareness of the enterprise opportunities delivered by the school.
I am also the link governor for health and well-being of staff, including apprentices and ECTs.
I am keen to develop further, my awareness of what is delivered in school and the impact that has on increasing student independence and life opportunities .I look forward to working alongside the school as part of the governing body helping the school go from strength to strength
