Brief information

I am delighted to have joined the Cann Bridge Governing Body in September 2023 as a co-opted Governor. I have previously worked with the school when I worked for the Local Authority as an Education Improvement Partner. I am the link Governor for curriculum, to ensure that the children at Cann Bridge have a progressive and ambitious curriculum which meets the needs of all pupils. I will be working alongside the Headteacher and the school team to quality assure the curriculum in place and inform the governors of any actions and developments. I am also one of the Governors who conducts the Head Teachers performance management.
I work as a School Improvement Officer for First Federation Trust and work across 22 schools in our growing Trust to raise standards and quality assure schools school improvement plans to include: curriculum, assessment, attendance and safeguarding. I have previously worked as an Education Improvement Officer for Plymouth County Council where I worked initially with the virtual school, then with the SEND department and across the special schools in Plymouth. Previous to that, I was a headteacher of a primary school and have over 15 years of primary experience. I have also had experience in a secondary school as an Advanced Skills Teacher supporting children who were not engaged by education. My passion is science and I have supported over 400 schools across the world with science CPD. I am looking forward to working as part of the Cann Bridge Governing Body to ensure that the staff are supported and challenged to ensure that children have the best possible education.
